accessibility

Govan Law Centre (GLC) have worked hard to ensure that this website is accessible to as many people as possible, disabled and non-disabled alike.  Not only have we built the website so that it can be viewd in many differnt ways, we have complied to all Equality Act standards.  For instance, all images have ‘alt’ tags so that they can be read in text only browsers, or by text-to-speech programs.  We have ensured that text is short and concise, and that no page is dominated by images, to make sure that each message is easy to read.  Style sheets have been used to control the layout, allowing the pages to be viewed in a variety of forms in order for all users to have the best possible experience on our website.GLC have followed all W3C guidelines possible for this website, however, in the event that you are unable to read any of the pages or documents on this website, please contact advice@edlaw.org.uk and we will arrange to get an accessible version to you.

If you can’t use Acrobat Reader to see PDF documents (for example, if you use screen reader software or an audio-enabled web browser), Adobe provide a free online tool which converts them to text. To use this service, send the web address (URL) of the Adobe Acrobat document you want to read through the web form (www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html). The service will return the document to you as a web page (HTML) or as plain text. Alternatively, you can choose to get it emailed to you as an attachment.

Microsoft Word

Some documents in this site are stored in Microsoft Word format. Files in this format will have the Word symbol next to them. If you do not have Microsoft Word on your computer, you can install Microsoft Word Reader: click the link below to download the software.
